bowmaking course.

The Sparrowbows Archery course location is in Lower Austria, in the municipality Kautzen, right on the border with the Czech Republic.
On the first day of the course we start with theory on arrow flight and bow mechanics and browse a little in bow making literature. Then we choose your individual piece of wood. We will find the most suitable bow design and start working on the shape.

On the second day, your personal blank will be carefully acclimated to its new life as a bow and gradually bent. On the third day, you'll then test your selfbow with arrows you made yourself and finish the handle.

You can either stay overnight on-site at our old Maierhof farm or book accommodation nearby. The maximum number of participants is currently three. Individual courses are also available. A beginner's course lasts three days and usually takes place from Thursday evening or Friday morning to Sunday afternoon.

The course fee depends on the selected materials for bow and arrows, accomodation and meals.
